This chair is beautiful, but it arrived at my house severely damaged (the outer packaging had no evidence of damage; the inner packaging was obviously less than adequate, and as a result one arm was completely broken through where it meets the back of the chair). I immediately emailed the seller, attaching 3 photographs to document the damage. Seller's response was to email a shipping label. Keep in mind, this is a CHAIR, not a tie or a DVD -the original packaging was in pieces, and there was simply no easy way to repackage the item. I would have had to somehow fit the chair into my small car and taken it to a UPS or similar store, then pay a fee to have it packaged for shipping. I explained this to the seller via another email, and asked that he either cover that expense or refund a portion of the original charge to me so I could have the arm repaired. He declined to do either and instead at some point contacted UPS, who a week after the fact called and asked to inspect the packaging, which of course my boys had JUST put out with the trash that day. Then, Seller said he had to "check with the manufacturer" before he could issue a refund. But, I didn't purchase this chair from the manufacturer or from UPS -I purchased it from AtHomeMart, and I think it was reasonable to ask that they immediately refund 50% of the cost of the chair so I could have it repaired rather than require me to somehow ship the chair back to them; a chair in that condition in a showroom would be marked down at least 50%, more likely 70-75%. Any recourse through UPS or the manufacturer is between AtHomeMart and those entities with whom they contracted, and should have no bearing on whether or not the AtHomeMart customer receives appropriate and timely compensation for the receipt of damaged goods that are too large to ship back without a great deal of time, effort and expense on the customer's part.After 3 weeks with no acceptable resolution, I finally lodged a complaint with Amazon a few days ago. The response? Yet another shipping label emailed to me by AtHomeMart. Obviously, no one is listening to me: returning this item is NOT an acceptable option! I can only hope that the Amazon guarantee will cover at least a portion of my loss on this purchase. Otherwise, I've wasted almost $400 on a broken chair.This chair is big, beefy actually. It appears well built and will hopefully be durable. Rich wood and leather, glides well on 5 coasters. Nice buy.

The chair arrived well packed. I quickly unpacked the parts and putting it together was a cinch, especially since all of the hardware necessary was included. Within 30 minutes it was where it sits today and is used by the adults and all the children who come into the living room. It was exactly what I was wanting.
