Powell Color Story Schoolhouse-Style Counter Stool, Crimson Red

I ordered a set of 4 and 3 of them had pretty big nics out of them. I was able to mix and match pieces and end up with 3 pretty good stools. The last one I returned and recieved a replacement with minimal nics.

The nics don't seem to be a result of packaging and seem, in my opion, to have been packaged that way. I wondered if the were seconds.

If you don't mind the nics, they are sturdy and I LOVE the color!

I bought this for my kitchen island counter. Like it so much, I'm ordering another one so I can seat two people. It is super easy to put together (make sure you tighten the hex bolts very tightly) and the color is a cranberry red that looks great. Well made, heavy construction. My five year old grandson loves sitting on it and talking while I cook meals. My 88 year old mother even remarked on how comfortable it is. These stools are great. No regrets.

We got three of these. The first one went together fine. The second had holes drilled too deep so when you put the nuts that the screws lock into in, they fell too deep into a hole and the screw wouldn't hit the nut. I fixed this by putting some styrofoam pebbles into the holes and that held the nut high enough to screw it in. However the issue is the third one, the sitting area had a visual board popping out from under the paint and one of the cross bars had a oval (as opposed to round) shape. So it wouldn't fit in the hole.

In the packaging is paperwork to get new parts. So we ordered the new parts and will see if we get anything. Powell asks you to not return to Amazon.

The two I have put together look good. They are definitely a Crimson Red and match our Le Crusset Red's well. They are also a height that is hard to find.

These counter stools are sturdy, and were not difficult to assemble. The color is more of a cranberry I would say. I realize the color is described as Crimson Red, but the picture depicts a much brighter red than it really is, so beware. Although I've had them for only about 2 months, I do notice a small chip on the seat of one of them, which is white underneath, so it is noticeable. With no children in the household, I did not expect to see a chip this soon.
