Ordered this bed just a few days ago and it already arrived today! Only took me an hour to put it together and that was done all by myself with four kids running around screaming and distracting me! I was awed and impressed as soon as I opened the boxes and saw the peices. Beautiful rich color, professionally done finish, and high quality wood that made it scream that it should have been way more than it cost. All good things if you ask me! I'd definitely recommend this product! Plus, I didn't know this until I received it, but you can buy two and stack them as twin over twin bunks! Instructions for doing that are included with your beds!Great color matched the other espresso furniture we already had. Love that later if we choose to, we can order another and they turn it into a bunk bed. Good quality for a kids room and a good price. The only thing I didn't like is that there is a super large sticker that says "do not remove" and has all these warnings about it being on the top if it's part of a bunk bed (no horseplay, cautions of falling, etc.). It's really big like 50% of the larger wood part on the headboard. And it's bright white so it sticks out like a sore thumb. I tried peeling it off but they stuck it on good so that you can't. I'll have to try Goo Gone or something. For now, it's just hidden by the pillows when the bed is made.Buy Canwood Base Camp Twin Bed Now
I ordered this bed for my 3 year old son who was overjoyed when we received it. He could not wait to "help" me put it together and sleep on it. The item arrived on time, and with no damage to the packages. The items inside were all in good condition also. The bed took about an hour to put together from un-boxing to cleaning up. The only problem during assembly was on of the pre-cut holes for the hardware was not cut deep enough and the bolt did not line up with the nut. It wasn't a big deal, just took a chisel and made the hole a bit deeper and everything fit. The bed looked great when we finished. There is a strong smell from whatever they used to stain or seal the wood. It can be overpowering if its in an enclosed space. I had to turn the fan on and open the window for it to air out. This helped, but the smell is still noticeable. My son slept in the bed that night, and just loved it. If this was where the review ended it would have been a 4 star bed....but its not.The next day my son was sitting on the bed looking at a book and the wood side rail just split in half. I was in the room and was shocked at what I saw. My son weighs 32 lbs. and this wood snapped like a toothpick. I contacted Canwood and they are sending a replacement piece. I really hope this was just a bad piece of wood. I will update once I get the new piece, but for now I am not sure how good the quality is on this bed. If I have anymore problems like this, the bed is going back!Bought this bed for my 4 year old. For the most part it is well constructed and very sturdy when completed. The instructions were pretty easy to follow, which is sometimes an issue with product produced in Asia. On the negative side, I did have to take about a 1/4" off of one of the legs to get the holes to line up. In the end it was still level, which means that the finishing of the leg's length was not completed... The giant label on the head-board is annoying. Takes some effort to remove. You need goo-b-gone and have to be careful not to damage the finish. I understand the need for safety labeling for bunk-beds (even though I didn't purchase a bunk-bed), but a 22"x3" label right in the middle of the headboard is silly. This is a good value. It took about two hours to assemble. I was glad I read about the big warning sticker so when we went over the instructions, we realized that if you switch "AL" and "AR" the sticker ends up on the back where it is not visible. The footboard will require wood glue for the top despite the screws that it comes with. We just put it together tonight and our 3 and 2 year olds are sleeping soundly! We did add the Babyhome side rails which worked well with the slats. We did not use a box spring in the bed as it is already 12 inches off the floor. Not sure that this will last 10 years but it appears to be a good bed for young kids transitioning out of the toddler bed.
