We got this as an "in a pinch" guest bed. However, we put this against the railing in our loft HUGE bedroom and it has become the bed for when one of us wants to toss and turn. It was easy to put together, many parts, just follow the steps, and it is solidly constructed. Both upright and flat out it does not rock when you get on or off it. I was actually a little surprised that it didn't rock at all climbing on or off it. We got the 8" mattress and that was a very good thing (tip: look for a cover that specifies for the thicker mattress). I had a harder time wrestling the mattress out of it's box and wraping and getting it into the cover than my husband did building the frame. We are really loving this futon. It's even wide enough to sleep on without putting out flat which is really convenient when one of us decides to move over to it in the middle of the night and doesn't want to wake the other. Being no longer a college kid, I don't think I would want this to be my ONLY bed or ONLY couch, but it sure makes a good extra in a kid's room for friends, in an extra room for guests, or for those nights you toss and turn but don't want to go sleep on the living room furniture (as this cover is removable and washable). We really are pleased with it and also with the seller who shipped everything quickly, at the same time, and well-packed.

This futon is sturdy,Fairly easy to put together.I got this set for a little under $300.I've searched Amazon.com for a futon and mattress set and I got prices from $500 to nearly $1,000.The mattress is really thick and super comfy!I got a really good deal!I recommend buying from this seller.The shipping and delivery is fast unlike some other sellers.

I purchased this for perhaps the most ridiculous reason one could think of. My Australian Shepperd likes to sleep on my couch as night. It ( the couch) has three seat cushions which, "Aussie" kicks completely off onto the floor in about one to two nights. I would have to remove the comforter, place the cushions back on the couch and so on almost every day. Plus the couch was so dirty I decided to junk it anyway.

Thought not stated in the sellers description, the futon mattress is a FULL size.

Assembly was easy and the instructions are very detailed and through, no guess worked involved. It took me just over 2 hours as I had to work on it by myself and discovered I had the back legs on the wrong side; so I had to fumble with that for almost an hour.

You will need a hammer and an electric screwdriver type device; a tape measurer is recommended just to make sure you are attaching the correct pieces together.

Quality is excellent. Nice thick mattress which, the mfg recommends you let it expand out for a few days before using it as it is rolled up (not folded) and vacuumed packed; which the mfg does just before shipping. So it is not all squished together for months at a time. The futon cover arrived first so I decided to enclose it around the mattress before it had fully expanded out.

I recommend this product to anyone.

Assembly took an hour, if that (I am a wimpy girl). Some of the screws wouldn't screw in all the way, but that did not really bother me. What really sucks is the mattress.

I let this mattress sit for at least 3 days per the instructions on the box. After the first night I slept on it, there was a huge dent where I was sleeping (and I'm 120 lbs). I flipped the mattress over the next night, and there was another dent the next morning. Even if I leave the mattress set for over a day, there is still a dent where I have slept. I can feel the slats of the wooden futon frame (bi-fold, also from Futons & Furniture Direct) as soon as I lay on it. It is also lumpy and uncomfortable. Every night I sleep on this mattress, I have another back or neck pain in the morning. I put a 1 1/2 memory foam topper on the mattress, and it still does not help much (though I am probably due for a new one). Like another reviewer stated, this mattress is about 6" at best.

This futon is fine as a couch, but do not buy if you ever plan to sleep on it.

After about 2 weeks of sleeping on this mattress, I had had enough and inquired about a refund. The seller (Futons & Furniture Direct) was very understanding, gave me a refund, and suggested I give the mattress to charity.

I carefully compared the costs of frames and mattresses before ordering and this set is a great deal and a great bed. The mattress came rolled up and not folded in thirds like most others are, which prevents indentations or weak spots in the mattress. The wood is nice in appearance and of good quality. The futon bed itself was very easy to put together. I put it together myself in a little over an hour and a half, while watching TV. Anyone with basic skills using tools will easily be able to put this together themselves. The frame is nice and sturdy and the mattress is thick and of good quality. I'd highly recommend this futon bed to anyone.
