I'm a degreed Mechanical Engineer. Both this dresser and the matching one are terrible to assemble. The fasteners are not described like "1/5in wood screw" but just as "screw #217" there are about 15 different fasteners used and some are very similar, you can't tell which to use by the #217 description, and if you use the wrong one in the wrong spot you might end up punching through the finished side of the drawers. Even if you make no mistakes, which would be nearly impossible given the directions, you are bound to spend HOURS upon HOURS compleating each one. Also, you actually have to screw THROUGH plastic pieces and the guide holes on the drawers are wayyy off, so you're going to wear our your arm quick, if you can even get the screws to go in at all. If you do survive the assembly, then they look nice and are sturdy, but if you make even just minimum wage, you're probably better off spending a little extra money on something else. Time & frustration are not worth the savings here. For a dresser that is delivered this is a pretty nice piece. Just as good if not better than the lower priced funiture in stores and at a much lower price. It does take some time to put together. I suggest taking everything out of the respective packaging, organize the pieces, and take your time. With one person it took me a little over and hour and a half and I'm pretty mechanically inclined. It's more tedious than difficult. You start with the drawer assembly and after a few drawers, you can get the hang of it. It is pretty heavy and the box was beat up but the pieces were all intact.
The only reason I didn't give it five stars is the hardware. It looks a little cheap to me. I decided to replace the handles and knobs with some brushed nickel hardware that I picked up at Home Depot. The only problem with that is the holes for the hanldles are not standard size. I had to mark and drill new holes but when finished it looked so much better.

The quality of the wood it self was not what I expected. Most the material used is laminated particle board and not real wood. The top section also was damaned, it has two cracks and one small crack on the front edge.Read Best Reviews of South Shore Noble Collection Dresser Here
The dresser arrived in great packaging, although it weighed 115 pounds. We live on a third floor, so my husband helped the delivery driver carry it in. It was well packaged and no pieces or parts were damaged or missing. Although it was very easy to put together, it takes a little while and the right screwdrivers to make it happen. My husband and I appreciated that all the parts were labeled clearly. That made assembly much less hectic. The instructions were also very clear and well written. The dresser seems sturdy and also comes with wall attachments in case you have kiddos that like to climb on furniture. The hardware comes with an aged look, which we like and it looks like an antique! We are very pleased overall.Nice dresser, looks good, and was somewhat easy to put together. For the price, a great buy. If you are looking for the top notch, elegant piece of furniture, this is not quite the one. That said, I am pleased with my purchase and it suits my needs.
