I bought this bed recently and put it together in a few hours.

It came packaged very securely and was not damaged in the least.

The instructions aren't too bad, so putting it together was fairly straight forward. The drawers (3 of them) have to be put together as well and it's a bit tedious. Quality is pretty good for particleboard furniture. Only issue was that the twin mattress (standard size Simmons) that I purchased left a fairly large gap on all sides of the platform. Would like it to fit more snugly. It's not a safety thing, just an appearance thing.

I ordered one of these from Amazon. It weighs 150 pounds. The box is very long. UPS gave it some rough handling which resulted in the frame being split in half, inside the box. MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) is used in cheap speaker cabinets and in cheap furniture. It can be pretty weak and start to crumble with any exposure to moisture. This bed has a lot of exposed MDF on parts that are not facing the room. In other words, spill some juice in bed and the MDF will soak it up and start to crumble. Kids like to sip in bed and often spill the cup. This is bad news for a MDF bed. My son is 18 and sleeps on a twin mattress. Teens flop around, have friends over, and generally destroy stuff. Haha. I am going for a solid wood bed frame. I guess I should have known this would have happened in shipping. Look for the solid wood beds. Even soft pine has held up for years with our boys. For desks-MDF is OK. But for a bed? I just don't like it.

I bought two of these for my grandsons. They are very sturdy, great looking and the seller has a great reputation. I am completely satisfied and happy with these and my grandsons love them. Lots of storage at a fantastic price.

which is an economical chest bed. It's fairly well made, sturdy for particle board. I would recommend replacing the plastic drawer slides with bottom mount metal ones (16" available at Home Depot) which will cost about another $20 and some special screws (the bed comes with some, but you'll need 40 I think). Otherwise we're happy with it. Of course the mattress you get will have a lot to do with how happy you are with it.

The boards that go across the bed to support the top and drawers had some minor damage which did not effect their function and since they're not visible had no effect on the bed's cosmetic appearance. The damage had to have happened at the factory as where and how the damage occurred could not have happened in shipping.

I would recommend this bed to someone looking for this type and price of bed, I think it is a good value.

Assembly of the drawers on this bed were quite time consuming and difficult as the holes did not line up. The drawers are stiff to pull out. Once the drawers were completed, the rest of the bed went together quickly. We are very happy with this bed!
