Easy to put together, looks really nice too. I only had two small issues with this item....first the hinge for the storeage compartment came completely opened the wrong way and is VERY hard to get it back in the correct position. Second issue is that this bench is a little lower than I had thought it would be if the legs were just a few inches higher it would be perfect.

I was very disappointed in this product. The material was very cheap and there were several small cracks in the wood already upon assembly. Not sturdy enough to even support the weight of an adult. I feel like I over paid way to much for this product.

The box was damaged and looked as if it had been shuffled around from place to place. We opened the box the next day and started to put it together. I noticed there are quite a few scratches and little holes on the wood. The right arm rest has the worst damge. It was not attached properly and also was cracked near the back of the bench. In addition, there are dents here there... I called the customer service to complain about the quality of this bench and was given two options of either return it with a full refund or with a replacement. Since it has taken 3 hours to put it together, we decided to keep the piece with some compensation. We settled with a refund of 40.00. Learned from this experience, I probably will not buy another piece of furniture through mail order.

I knew I was going to have a problem with it from the start because when the box arrived, it was pretty beat up... And of course I was correct. The piece that goes on the left side of the bench looked like it was damaged before and they tried to fix it and resell it. The wood wasn't attached properly and so there's a gap between the back part of the bench and the arm rest. We tried pushing the two pieces together, but they just won't stay. Then there are two little dents in the wood as if something was resting on that area and it broke the wood. It's too much of a hassle to try and send a huge box like that back, so we're just going to deal with the imperfections.

The bench is very well made and looks great next to the front door. I love the storage as it will hold 4 cloth bins which keep all the shoes, hats, etc for my son more organized, yet out of sight. It was a little tough to put together, but a little extra elbow grease from my husband got the job done. Overall, it only took about 30-45 minutes to assemble. I would recommend adding a good wood glue (I like Gorilla Glue) to all the joints. I do this with all assemble yourself furniture and it seems to make a huge difference. Adds a lot of strength to all the joints.
