Handy Living Wall-Hugger Hinged Bench Microfiber Storage Ottoman

I've ordered A LOT of items from Amazon, but never written a review. This sudden change wasn't prompted by this product, but by the outstanding service Amazon provided.

I opened the box, but the bench together (screwed the legs in lol), flipped it over, and realized there was a rip in the fabric on the lid. I called Amazon, they very graciously thanked me for my business, and immediately offered a refund or exchange with a prepaid label. I accepted the exchange, but the bench is out of stock. The representative informed me that as soon as the item was back in stock I would receive a confirmation email of shipment and until then I can keep the original bench. Wonderful!

After a second look, I realized that I most likely caused the rip when I opened the box. Honest is the best policy, so I called back and explained my mistake. The new representative said they will still send me a new bench, for free! Super wonderful!

So in conclusion, this is a nice bench for storage at the end of a bed. It's not super deep or tall, but it seems very sturdy. Just be careful opening the box, you might want to tear the tape off instead of trying to cut through it... ;)

This unit comes preassembled for everything except the feet. And the packaging is amazing for them each is separately wrapped in bubble wrap, which is then wrapped as a single unit in more bubble wrap, which is then wrapped again in a pretty thick foam "blanket". Little chance of damage during shipping. Even the big box this is in, they add a second layer of cardboard under the top seam to help prevent people cutting the top of the item when they open it. Just be careful with your knife when cutting the tape off the top, if you don't give enough force to penetrate cardboard, you won't be able to cut your bench.

The hinge works very well, truly "wall hugging". I have it right up against the wall under my bay window in the great room, and when you tilt it up, it pulls forward some then pivots with spring assist. Holds open with just the springs, no locking hinge or anything you have to "release" to close it again. And it doesn't slam shut so safe for little hands.

Mine is in great shape, no marred sections or discolorations. Solidly built, no wiggle or wobble in the frame at all. Four feet screw in easily and snugly.

Seems quite large I'm over 6 feet tall and this was just about to my shoulders when on its end in the box on my front porch.

I had this ordered almost two months ago since they were out of stock, but expected more in. It came back in stock sooner than the initial estimate, and I'm glad I waited, since it's tough to find a *GOOD* storage bench like this at a price like this (no wonder they were backordered). I received an email that they were back in stock late Saturday night and I had it here this Tuesday already.

I received my storage ottoman today and am delighted. It is made so well and looks great. It is also very functional. I am using it in front of my King size bed and will store linens in it. I highly recommend this product. The bench is very nice. I cannot believe I got it for such a reasonable price. I bought it to store my fancy pillows in when the bed is turned down. It's a bit shallow for the job, but it looks great and holds most of them. It would be great for shoes.

I got this bench for the end of my bed. It is very sturdy & pretty comfortable. The kids love to lay on it. It's strong enough for several people to sit on. The storage space inside is very good. The wall hugging design is great. The stain resistant microfiber is awesome. The kids have had a few spills & they wiped right up with no trace of the spills. I am very pleased with this bench!!
