Baxton Studio Jenifer Modern Rubberwood Dining Chair, Set of 2, Medium Brown

I bought two of these from another website and LOVE them, but they don't stay assembled. The seat cushions keep falling off and one of the legs broke. They are sturdy in construction, just poor assembly design. So sad.

We love these chairs! We are using them in our dining set at the head/foot of the table. Our toddler sits on these as opposed to any in the original set that came with our table because they are sturdier than those original chairs that came with our expensive set! (he snapped one of those original chairs when it tipped over because he was leaning on the back) I am much more vigilant about his seating habits now, but also much more confident that he won't tip over as easily on these chairs. I love the color of the wood--it is exactly as pictured and is the perfect middle ground between too dark and too oak-y. medium dark=just right. I like to think that we make discerning style and value choices with all our purchases and even with the cons below we are still in love with these chairs almost 1yr later! (purchased may 2012) I almost want to break the remaining original chairs so we have an excuse to get more of these :)

cons:

-crumbs can get lodged between the seat cushion and the chair back

-the chair cushion is screwed on to the base by the user (ie: doesn't arrive attached, it is part of the assembly required), so it is not the strongest, most seamless of connections. (see photo) but you have to be on the side and close up to notice or care.

I seriously don't get the negative reviews on this. It was very easy to assemble (we probably could have figured it out without instructions. in fact, i think we did assemble them without instructions) AND they are very sturdy. i think the previous reviewer whose chairs were broken must've just gotten a lemon. we are very satisfied!

Nice and sturdy. Lots of assembly, but pretty easy. Looks are good as shown. Seats are comfortable. They lay back farther than some chairs.

Had to return 2 sets because parts were broken, scratched or missing. The boxes are threadbare and just a little too small.

The nails that screw into cushion should be longer (we bought our own screws).

But I still love the product. Low back modern chairs w comfortable cushion.
