The drawer faces are screwed into the sides and held in place by a screw locking mechanism. Two on each side of each drawer. At least once a month those mechanisms fall out of place, causing the drawer face to come apart from the sides. Fantastic. And it's always a different drawer, or a different side. This last time it happened, I got so fed up my husband had to use wood glue to try and keep them in place. Hopefully that will work, and when the next mechanisms fall out, he'll use the wood glue again, and again, until they are all eventually permanently stuck in place.
I would never buy this piece again. Nor would I try to sell this one to some poor unsuspecting soul. I hate this dresser, and wish we could afford a different one.

The drawer is of solid wood construction except for the sides which are constructed of particle board. The hardware for the drawers consists of camlocks holding the front on. These camlocks appear to be made of a cast pot metal. I doesn't take much torque to break these camlocks. Despite the hardware issue it is descent sized drawer for the price.Read Best Reviews of DaVinci Parker 4-Drawer Dresser Here
I'll endeavor to provide a fair and honest review of the DaVinci Parker 4-Drawer dresser. First off, I nearly did NOT purchase this dresser because of all the negative reviews however, I'm very glad I went ahead with it as you'll see if you continue reading. The box arrived in good condition with no visible damage, although it is heavy so if you are moving it up a flight of stairs you'll want another person to help with the lifting. All parts and hardware were present and free of defects. The instructions are fairly straight forward although, I will admit the illustrations could be better. One example of this is where you screw the drawers gliders to the 2 side panels, the illustration shows that the gliders line flush with the edges of the dresser side panels however, they actually sit about 1/2 from the edge in order to line up with the pre-drilled holes. The dresser top, base and drawer fronts are made of solid wood and have a nice even toned color and grain to them, the side panels are laminated particle board and, as others have mentioned, the drawer bottoms are a thin particle board similar to a peg board (minus the holes) in consistency and thickness, but otherwise are not overly flimsy. The back is just a piece of heavy stock cardboard that attaches with 32 quarter inch screws. Although not necessary, I did use a good quality fast drying wood glue when assembling the drawers just to ensure no slippage of the bottoms from the sides. For those reviews complaining that the drawer glides fall off the manufacturer has apparently addressed this issue by providing updated screws attached with a note directly to the instructions so you can't miss it. The replacement screws have slightly larger heads so they hold the glides securely in place as I assume the previous screws' heads were too small and the glides didn't stay in place for long.
Overall, this is a decent quality product for the money and I'm sure we'll have this dresser for many years to come.I am expecting my first child and had read the reviews and did not want to buy this piece but my mother insisted that she buy it. the matching change table is much sturdier then the dresser but the dresser is a nice piece for a newborns room althought i dont think it will be able to handle an older child.
