Overall the dresser is very sturdy when put together and seems like it will last for many years. I will warn that since it is particle board, the Jamocha finish is like a wallpaper so it can scratch and tear somewhat easily. Since this piece is fairly dark, you can use brown or black marker to cover any light scratches. I did this on the back edge of the dresser (I accidentally tore a tiny section with a knife) and I can hardly notice it an my wife didn't until I pointed it out to her.
The child safety mechanism where only one drawer can be open at a time can easily be left out or removed in the future. I am very satisfied with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone. It would've been nice to have dividers in the top drawer to separate socks and things.

I bought this dresser for our nursery. It took me hours to complete and the drawers wouldn't align properly. Even using the built-in adjuster pieces, they were all askew, and some of them wouldn't open without a fight. Several pieces arrived with gouges taken out of them and one of the drawers was missing a significant amount of particleboard in one corner. In addition, one of the legs was wobbly, even after being screwed in as tight as the pieces would allow. Maybe cut at an angle? Anyway, after fighting with the bottom drawer on multiple occasions, the inside drawer track split and it's now useless. I'm literally throwing it away before we've even had the chance to actually use it... my daughter isn't due until August. :(Read Best Reviews of Child Craft Shoal Creek Ready-to-Assemble 4-Drawer Chest Here
Easy assembly with easy instructions. Took my husband about 2 hours to assemble. We love the drawers! They have a lot of room in them and you cannot open more than 1 drawer at a time which is safe for kids!Want Child Craft Shoal Creek Ready-to-Assemble 4-Drawer Chest Discount?
This product took me 4 hours to assemble, and once it was done the drawers would NOT stay intact nor align with the rails. I could barely transport it from one room to another it was so wobbly. I disposed of it two days later, complete waste of $200.
