Milliard Super Strong Portable Folding Rollaway Bed, 38 by 79-Inch

Milliard Super Strong Portable Folding Rollaway Bed, 38 by 79-InchArrived promptly, 90% assembled and was easy to install a few support brackets and wheels. Seems to be well made and sturdy. I like that is has wood slats instead of metal springs. They are firmer and don't squeak when you move. Has been used twice by houseguests weighing 150 and 170 lbs. and both found it very comfortable. It is an inch or two narrower than a twin bed but standard twin sheets fit just fine. I did put a padded mattress cover on it to ensure comfort. Was used in a carpeted room and it didn't move around at all. It's easy to fold up the mattress does tend to stick up higher than the sides when folded, but you can smush it down enough to attach the crossbar which keeps it closed. Great purchase worth the money definately recommend.

I ordered my first one of these in May 2012 for the lake cabin and have since ordered two more in late July 2012. Width and length are superior to other options. The frame, with wooden slats, is also much stronger than the other options. (I returned a couple other rollaways because of shoddy construction.) Amazon seems to run out of these from time to time, so get your order in. Also, the price went up $10 between my two orders.

I just love this bed. It rolls around easy but it does take a bit of strength to close it back up. My sister, who has serious back issues slept on it for a week and she even loved it. I was also impressed to discover that the slats are made of wood--not metal springs.

OK so we got this bed from Amazon for overnight guests, and frankly, couldn't be happier with it. It's lightweight, easy to move around, and quite comfortable. The mattress is thin, but quite firm, providing a lovely level of support. We've found that it can be folded up completely made up with comforter and pillows (with a little extra effort).

The only negative thing we have to say is that the bed did NOT arrive with assembly / usage instructions. Therefore I'm going provide such below:

The bed arrives with a small bag of parts which I'll inventory for you:

1 assembly wrench

4 black plastic caster wheels

4 wheel nuts (with black caps on one side)

2 silver colored stabilizer bars

2 hinge bolts

2 hinge bolt nuts

2 black plastic lock bars (these hold the bed closed when folded, and may already be attached to the bed)

4 squared off black plastic feet

The bed itself arrives as follows:

Pre-folded, the bed has a crease end (where the mattress folds in half) and a terminus end (where the two ends of the folded mattress meet). The bed is incased/supported by a black metal frame with wooden slats. In the center of the terminus end of the frame the metal bars dip toward each other creating two 'handles' that also help keep the mattress in place when the bed is open.

There are four legs on the bed, all four are pre-attached with pivoting rivets to the frame. Two legs are attached to either side of the crease end of the frame ('crease legs' ) and come folded up against the body of the bed. The crease legs come with a 'hinge bar' attached to one side. The other two legs are attached mid-way between the crease and terminus ends of the bed ('outer legs') and also come folded up against the body of the bed.

Now here are the assembly instructions:

0: Keep the bed closed and standing on one edge, so that the crease and terminus ends are along opposite sides of the bed as it stands.

1: The two black plastic lock bars come with a 'hinge end' and a 'clasp end'. The hinge end of the lock bar has a narrower opening around a round hole, while the clasp end has a larger opening around a square hole. Clip the hinge end of each lock bar on either side of one of the terminus frame handles. (The bed may come with these already attached if so, position them so that they're located on either side of the handle they're attached to.

2: Lock the bed closed by clipping the clasp end of the lock bars to the handle on the opposite end of the bed. You'll use these to keep the bed closed while it's being stored, and the clasp ends easily pop off when you want to unfold and use the bed.

3: Fold out the outer legs so that they are perpendicular to the frame. Notice that each outer leg has a hole on either side which will face the floor when the bed is unfolded. Take the four black plastic feet and clip two to each outer leg so that the bottom of each foot will be facing the floor when the bed is unfolded. The feet have a little nub on the inside which lines up and locks each foot into place over the holes in the outer legs.

4: Fold out the crease legs so that they are also perpendicular to the frame. Take the hinge bar of each crease leg, and attach it to the body leg on the same side using the hinge bolt and nut. Tighten securely using the provided wrench. Once the hinge bars are attached, you will notice that when you move the crease legs, the body legs move in sync.

5: Fold the crease legs all the way down so that they are as close together as possible. This will cause the body legs to fold down against the body of the bed.

6: Notice that the crease legs also have holes on either side. Take a stabilizer bar (these bars are used to connect the two crease legs together, have a U shaped profile, with holes on either side) and line the holes on the stabilizer bar up with the holes on one side of both crease legs. Thread a caster wheel's bolt through the hole in the stabilizer bar and the hole in the crease leg, pinning the stabilizer bar to the crease leg. Thread another wheel through the other side of the stabilizer bar and the corresponding hole in the opposite crease leg. Thread a wheel nut onto the each of the wheel bolts and tighten using the included wrench. Repeat this procedure for the other side of the crease legs.

7: Congratulations! You now have a fully assembled bed. Turn the bed on the wheels and unlock the top handles. As you unfold the bed you'll notice that the outer legs automatically unfold to help support the bed.

I hope this helps!
