This headboard looks great and is of a smaller scale as another reviewer noted. I ordered the queen size to replace my old oak headboard and it really opened up the room and took away some of the heaviness wood headboards can add. It came in one piece so assembly was easy and could be done without assistance. There is a leg extension for each side (the headboard can be used as the footboard) and then 2-3 screws on each leg just like most headboards.

Notes:

-It's not a super heavy metal which was expected based on the price. It won't be a family piece you'll pass down but is perfect to get the look you want at a great price.

-The color is not really black, but a tad lighter, more of a dark brown. You could easily paint it to get a darker color if desired.

-The picture doesn't show it well but there are spindles at each connection point which adds to the look

-Shipping was fast and took exactly a week.

Our little house was built in the 1950s, and the bedrooms are not large and do not have soaring ceilings. This headboard is just what I was looking for. It's well made, a nice neutral color, nestles close to the wall, and the architectural styling makes for visual interest. The scale is just right for our home. I'm very happy with my purchase.

We have been searching for a metal headboard for over two months and wanted something that would go along with the wrought iron decor of the house/bedroom this was definitely not it.

The images show the frame as being slightly more slender than normal but what we recieved was a headboard with brackets the thickness of pencils and nowhere near the color we expected. The color is gray...literally it looks like the headboard was gold and they just brushed a gray brown paint over the top...it makes the bed look very modern and almost impossible to match to anything in our home or to find anything in stores that would match and defeats the purpose of saving money by just replacing a headboard rather than replacing an entire bedroom suite!

the headboard was defective--neither of the legs fit in the frame. sent back immediately unable to use--very unhappy with this purchase
