South Shore Spark Collection Twin Mates Bed, Pure Black This is, by a long shot, the worst piece of furniture I have ever bought from Amazon. I'm an old hand at assembling KD furniture. This was next to impossible to do, following the directions. Fortunately, my experience made this task possible, but tedious and unpleasant. But even if the directions had been good, this is a dangerous, ugly, horrible bed. The thing is just prickly with sharp edges. From the tray edge along the mattress, to the razor sharp corners, to the edges and corners of the drawers (which don't fit flush or square) to the hard, sharp, metal drawer pulls (which are likely to cause someone serious injury when getting in or out of the bed.

The platform is so flimsy that even a high quality mattress can't make it comfortable. The drawer runners are the only support under the thin planking that the mattress rests on. And you can feel them when you are on top of the mattress. The entire bed is made of a laminate covered sawdust board. There is almost no way to move this bed, once assembled, without having someone hold each corner perfectly flat and square. The slightest pressure causes this material to crumble. And the joints and fastenings are all completely insufficient to withstand even the slightest effort to move or shift the assembled bed, without all four corners being lifted simultaneously and meticulously, to avoid any twisting or flexing of the flimsy bed parts.

I can't begin to tell you how angry I am, at myself for buying something so cheap, and at the manufacturer and the merchant, for selling something that is sure to 1) FALL APART and 2) CAUSE INJURY TO ANY USER. If there is a bright spot, it would be the expected life span of this POS. No doubt, with any use at all, this won't last 6 months. And then it can be carted to the nearest landfill, which is where I should have taken it in the first place. If you ask me, Amazon owes me an apology, a full refund, and an equal amount in damages for my time, effort and disappointment.

DO NOT BUY THIS BED!!

It was absolutely the most difficult thing I've ever put together and the instructions weren't very clear. Once its put together, it looks very nice it just takes a while to get to that point. It was shipped to me missing three parts, not incredibly thrilled about that. Overall, you get what you pay for.

I bought this bed for my 4 year old son. It is a great bed. The only problem I have with it is the handles on the drawers are very sharp on the corners. The bed itself it a great solid bed. Worth the money!!!

item came on a day not listed by my amazon prime. My daughter lost all of her things from the hurricane and we just wanted to get her into a reg bed and once again she had to sleep on a mattress on the floor. When we finally did get the item there was a huge dent on one side leaving a crack and bulging dent on the other side. i dont have the time to leave my daughter sleeping on any more floors so we kept the item. thankfully the damage is on the wall side of the bed. so my daughter is happy enough. it was easy enough to put together and will be a space saver with the draws below as well as not having an under the bed to cram things. If it came ontime and not broken i would have given a better review.

When putting the bed together though with my dad, two of the parts were a little small making it nearly impossible to put in the drawers! I plan on asking for replacement items and hopefully fix this problem. Otherwise besides the drawer problem this bed is really good! Im about 5' 7" and weigh 127lbs, this bed works well with me. I hope to use it for years to come.
